Tanjong Puteri golf course, which has been in operation since 1990, is influenced by nature. As the setting for the three TPGR golf courses, architects Akira Mamiya and Max Wexler used features of oil palm trees and natural mangrove woods that surround the course. The two architects are noted for always incorporating natural elements and native plants onto the golf course, such as local fruit trees. The three courses on the Tanjong Puteri golf course are unique.
Plantation Training
The Plantation Course at TPGR is one of the courses that provides the best golf experience in southern Malaysia. Max Wexler designed this course, which opened in November 1992. This Malaysian golf course was previously an oil palm plantation and the home of orchard workers. There are still traces of the oil palm plantation in the fairway area, as well as fruit trees on the 4th, 6th, 7th, 14th, 15th, and 17th holes. This 6,454-meter course was built in a natural hillside environment and has Zoysia Matrella grass on the fairway and Bermuda Tifdwarf on the green area.
The Straits Course
The Straits Course, designed by Akira Mamiya and located near the Johor Straits, provides an unending number of challenges. Tanjong Puteri Golf Resort's newest development is this 6,163-meter 18-hole course. Green areas, fairways, and tee boxes are set against mangrove marshes.
Straits Course is a demanding course for both beginners and professionals. This is due to the fact that high accuracy is necessary to hit the ball while avoiding numerous water impediments such as brackish water ponds on the 2nd hole fairway. Until the third tee box, when you must avoid the tiny river flowing through the mangroves. Not to add the bumpy green surface, mangrove trees, surface rocks, and wind blowing from the sea.
The Village Course
Akira Mamiya designed the Village Course in August 1994. This region was once part of the oil palm plantation where the Pasir Putih Village was located. These settlements were eventually known as Kampong Seri Aman I and II, and some of them can still be seen on the 6th, 11th, and 12th holes.
Plantation Palm Golf Course - The Village Course is an 18-hole, 6,414-meter course with water hazards flanking the green and fairway areas. The Village Course at Tanjong Puteri Golf Resort, which blends in with hills, valleys, and lakes, provides the ideal difficulty and design for golfers of all levels.
